Basic definition:

The Eddy Current Separator (ECS for short) is a high-efficiency sorting device specially designed for metal recycling. Its core function is to separate non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, copper, brass, and zinc from mixed waste, and it is widely used in the fields of waste treatment and metal processing.

Its working principle is based on electromagnetic induction: the device is equipped with a high-intensity rotating magnetic rotor, which generates a magnetic field after being energized. When the mixed waste is transported to the magnetic field area via the conveyor, eddy currents are induced inside the non-ferrous metals, creating a repulsive force opposite to the direction of the magnetic field. This allows for precise separation of non-ferrous metals from non-metals (such as plastic and glass) or ferrous metals, with a sorting accuracy of over 98%.
